Instructions for Authors

You will need to use a template to prepare your paper for submission to YASJ.

Please read the instructions below carefully. 

The template includes the sections that you are recommended to include in your manuscript.

Read the advice given in each of these sections. You should delete these notes after you have read them and when you are ready to include your text. Leave only the headings and your own text. 

General Format requirements

  • Use 1.5 x line spacing
  • Font: Arial or Times New Roman, size 11
  • Margins on all sides must be 2 cm
  • Maximum of 10 pages
  • Maximum of 8 Tables + Figures
  • Include line numbers on the document (as per the template provided)
  • Do not include specially formatted headings or subheadings – they should all be in bold and 11pt font as per the template
  • Save the template as a PDF
  • Figures must be saved as jpg/png/tiff files and uploaded separately as well as placed at the end of the template above their respective captions.
  • If a Figure has many panels, for example, Figure 1(a), 1(b), 1(c), etc, please upload multiple files

Requirements before submission

  • Please ensure that all authors have given their permission for publication in this journal.
  • Ensure you have all the documentation that supports the approval of an Ethics Committee for the use of animals or humans in your research if applicable. Include a blank version of any consent forms used. This should be submitted along with your manuscript and images.
  • Any image used that was not produced by the authors requires approval or permission by the original author for copyright purposes.
  • The senior author (usually listed last), and aged over 18 years of age, will be responsible for submitting the manuscript to YASJ. They will also act as the corresponding author to whom all emails will be addressed. This author will need to create an account for the submission and publication process.
  • Select 5 keywords that describe your work and that can be used to search databases for your paper.
  • Please include an authorship statement using the Contributor Role Taxonomy (CRediT)
